There are a number of methods by which a rifle can be dated, or at least bracketed between certain years of manufacture. Many, but not all, of our pages carry date information on the various rifles illustrated or discussed, where it has been possible to be sure of data. Yes, of course take it out for the day, and lift its skirts, because this means it not being 'stood up'. This rifle has some desirable parts in excellent condition. Fortunately, Century was only the importer, and had zero to do with their construction. Imbel L1A1 FAL (INCH-cut, G1 Parts) Description: This is a desirable, Imbel-produced, type three receiver, inch cut and imported by Century. It appears that the 'FAL' part of the serial number might have been added after the receiver was made and the numbers were struck. What's interesting is that 'FAL' is done by electric dot and the numbers are not and 'FAL' is just off line and is not aligned with the numbers. ![]() ![]() The serial number on the IMBEL receiver is FAL14XXX.
